Hazel Siromoni is a Counselling Psychologist and senior academic leader with over three decades of experience in education, social impact and international higher education. She has held leadership roles including Head of the Canadian Education Centre, India (which was set up with the support of Government of Canada), Managing Director of Maple Bear South Asia, and Vice President, Global Operations at Illume Student Advisory Services, Canada. She has globally travelled in these last 3 decades to more than a dozen countries actively participating and contributing significantly in the field of education.
As a core member of the founding team of the globally recognized Maple Bear education program, she has contributed significantly to advancing Canadian education across South Asia and beyond. In recognition of her impact on Canada–India educational relations, she received the prestigious Governor General of Canada’s Gold Medallion in 2014.
She has been elected as the President of YWCA of Delhi four times (2015, 2017, 2018 & 2019). She has also contributed towards publishing of several articles and especially contributed a Chapter focusing on women in workplace and breaking glass ceilings in a book called “Awaken the Magic”. She has also been engaged and serves on the boards of NGO like Manas Foundation, CBM, EFICOR and YWCA contributing in the areas of gender justice, working with the marginalized and disabilities.
She currently is Pro Vice Chancellor, Strategic Initiatives at Chitkara University, (Punjab & HP).
