In the dead of night, without warning, a landslide tore through Ramya’s home in Wayanad, Kerala. Swept away by the sudden torrent of water and mud, Ramya, 31, lost all sense of time and memory. The disaster took the lives of her husband and young daughter, leaving her and her son severely injured.
Ramya was rescued and hospitalized with head, leg, and spinal injuries. Her son, separated and cared for by another family who mistook him for their own, was found four days later—his identity revealed in a moment of heartbreaking recognition.
Now on a long road to recovery, Ramya undergoes monthly treatment, and her son requires biweekly care. With schooling currently beyond his reach, a tuition teacher has stepped in to support his learning at home.
