Ms. Lee Macqueen

Ms. Lee Macqueen, with nearly two decades of experience in empowering children, women, and marginalized communities, by advocating for inclusive policies and services, collaborates with various stakeholders to address vulnerabilities based on social identity, gender, and age. Her work focuses on child and women's development, disaster and climate adaptation, and governance to align with national and global development goals. In 2022, she became the first woman chairperson of Sphere India, leading initiatives for good governance, social inclusion, diversity, and financial transparency. Lee contributed to the NDMA Working Group (2010-14) guidelines on disaster management, supported the Sustainable Development Agenda and Sendai Framework for DRR (2015-30) engagements in India, and was a finalist for the UN Women's International Network on Disaster Risk Reduction Award (2022). She has published research promoting inclusive DRR and climate change initiatives for vulnerable communities. Lee advises national and global development organizations and engages with Caritas Germany on child rights and protection in Bangladesh and Nepal. She has been an honorary Programme Experts Committee Member for EFICOR since 2021. Additionally, she established Leeway Consultancy Services, which specializes in leadership and development consulting.
