Prof. Akheto Sema is an ordained minister/educator and administrator. He is the General Secretary, Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) based at Guwahati, Assam. He has fruitful 33 years of teaching and administration experiences in theological colleges/seminaries: as Lecturer, Reader, Professor, Academic Dean at Clark Theological College and Eastern Theological College, as Principal for nine years at Eastern Theological College, a theological education project of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India. His association in theological education enabled him to equip many men and women for leadership roles through spiritual, academic, ministerial and relational formation. Today, many of his students are leaders in India, Myanmar, and Nepal. Besides theological education, he has involved in the following activities: A member of Continuing Education of Christian Council of Asia (CCA); Member of Integral Mission of Micah Network International; Chartered member of Global LEAD Alliance; Secretary of North East India Theological Education Association. Currently, he is the General Secretary of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India. In the capacity of the office of General Secretary, he has also taken up various leadership roles in terms of preaching, teaching, building relationships, connecting with organizations and many other related missions and ministry of the Council. He is the Chairperson of North East India Community on Relief & Development (NEICORD), He is one of the Senators of Senate of Serampore College/University and Chancellor of North East Christian University (NECU) of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI).
