
Jitu Kumar holds academic qualifications in Economics and Political Science, along with a postgraduate degree in Mission and Development Practice. He has been associated with EFICOR since 1994, beginning as a Community Development Organiser trainee. Over the years, he has served in multiple roles including Project Development Officer, Assistant Program Coordinator, and Manager for partner and zonal projects, gaining deep experience in both rural and urban development across India.
With over two decades in the development sector—10 of those in grassroots community mobilisation—Jitu brings extensive expertise in project planning, design, and implementation. For the past 15 years, he has led sustainable development programs across thematic areas such as food security and livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, humanitarian response, urban poverty, and public health.
Currently, he serves as Lead – Program at EFICOR, where he guides and mentors the program team, develops strategic frameworks, engages with partner organisations, and builds capacity across teams. He is a sought-after speaker at national and international forums on various development issues.
His key areas of expertise include micro-watershed management, conservation agriculture, climate change adaptation, and building community resilience—making him a strategic leader in EFICOR’s ongoing mission to serve the most vulnerable.
