Mr. El Yanger Aier is a ‘forester’ by profession. After a short stint of working with the Govt. of Nagaland and Banking service (2 years in SBI as PO), he joined the Indian Forest Service in 1988. Allotted to Odisha cadre, he has since been working in Odisha for the past 31 years – covering all the districts of Odisha. His favorite area of work is the community empowerment & community participation in biodiversity conservation. He is currently, the Director of the Odisha Forest Development Corporation – the oldest and the largest Forest Corporation in India: one of the few profit-making forest corporations in the country. He has been involved in local churches and organisations like the UESI, the BSI, the Gideons International and very recently the World Vision, as a society member.
