Dr. Mathew Santhosh Thomas

Trained as an Internal Medicine specialist, with experience of working and providing leadership in both academic institutions and rural health care institutions, Dr. Mathew Santhosh Thomas has been involved in pioneering new health care programs especially in the area of HIV and TB and working with marginalized communities. Having moved into leadership roles 15 years back, he has been involved in leading EHA, a network of 20 hospitals and 40 community programs scattered across North India. In that role, he has been involved in facilitating National partnerships with various institutions and organizations. His areas of interest in addition to health care specific technical areas has been mentoring younger generation, leadership development and facilitating strategic thinking and planning. Currently Dr. Santhosh is working as a part time Internal Medicine consultant in Duncan Hospital, Raxaul, Bihar, India, a 225 bedded hospital at Indo Nepal border. He also functions as part time training coordinator for ICMDA developing a learning management system for ICMDA and also as Regional Secretary of ICMDA for South Asia. Married to Saira specialized in Anesthesia, he currently leads administrative team at Duncan Hospital and as Regional Director in EHA. The couple has two children - Susheel an IT professional and Ann an architect.
