Nimna-Gadha Tekadi, with just 451 households, is one of the target villages under EFICOR’s Suraksha Bal Vikas Project. During a field visit in June 2025, the project team discovered that a family in a remote sub-hamlet had four children, two of whom were severely affected by measles. The team informed the local ASHA and ANM, but both hesitated to visit the area due to poor road connectivity and its forested location.
The concern was immediately escalated to the project implementer, who coordinated with block and district health authorities to report the outbreak. Despite the reluctance of frontline health workers, the project team could urge the block and district health teams for a vaccination drive. As a result, the National Health Mission (NHM) team from the CMHO office agreed to intervene.
The next day, the NHM Program Manager instructed the Block Medical Officer to arrange an urgent vaccination camp. A medical team visited Nimna-Gadha Tekadi and vaccinated more than six children, including Manju and Rohit Dinesh, who were critically infected.
Following the camp, EFICOR’s team continued regular follow-ups, ensuring coordination with health workers. Immunization services have now improved, and the ANM and Anganwadi Worker are actively supporting families with health checkups and nutrition services.
All six children have fully recovered. Their families expressed deep gratitude to EFICOR and the health teams for bringing essential care to their doorstep.
