EFICOR COVID-19 Response Update 4

Relief for Stranded migrants and Daily-wagers in Noida and Delhi: 

As migrants continue to struggle to survive the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown, after covering 3648 stranded migrants in Delhi, EFICOR has now reached out to migrants in Noida and Meerut of Uttar Pradesh. As on 31st May 2020, we have reached out to 1850 families of migrant workers and daily wage labourers in Noida and 143 in Meerut through provision of relief kit containing rice – 10 kg, wheat flour – 5 kg, oil – 2 litre, dal (lentils) – 2 kg, Salt – 1 kg and safety gears such as soap – 4 pc, hand sanitizers and masks – 5 pc. A staff team of 4 have been out on the highways of Delhi, reaching those migrants who are walking or stranded on their way home with dry food and water. All documentation of beneficiary details is done through the Kobo tool on mobile phones in order to maintain safety in the context of COVID-19 social distancing. Thus allowing access to aggregated information in real time, view photos of beneficiaries along with relief items received, and a map of the distribution. Apart from Delhi NCR, EFICOR has been extensively supporting our beneficiaries in our operational areas across India including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram,Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
