They were lured to Delhi with the promise of work that would earn them Rs. 2000/- month. Little did these children know that they would be working 13-14 hour days in a hazardous environment, earning far less than what they are entitled to under the minimum wage. If we put aside for a moment the deplorable fact that there are people willing to exploit and oppress such young children, it is deeply troubling that we have families that are so burdened and desperate that they would think they have no other option but to send their children into an unknown labour market. These children are now in the process of rehabilitation, but we still have the underlying problem of such extreme poverty in villages that renders families hopeless and open to exploitation. #endhumantrafficking #freedom
