WATER AND FOOD GIVEN TO MIGRANT WORKERS AS THEY EMBARK ON A LONG WALK HOME

Water and Food Given to Migrant Workers as they Embark on a Long Walk Home

Tens of thousands of migrant workers and labourers are walking or cycling hundreds of kilometres back towards their home towns - some travelling as far as 1500km. With no income due to the lockdown and no job prospects in the immediate future, they are fleeing the cities with whatever belongings they can carry on their back, with little or no food, water, and money. They are hopeful that the situation will be better in their villages. Many are travelling at night to avoid the scorching 40+ degree daytime temperatures. But even at night, they face the prospect of extreme fatigue, dehydration, and death. We are reaching out to those walking out of Delhi, providing them with some small items to help sustain them on their journey - 500 grams muri mixture, 225 grams mixed dried fruits, and a water bottle. Please kindly donate and help us to help these migrants during this crisis
