EFICOR began as a unit of the EFI (Evangelical Fellowship of India) in 1967 when there was a drought in the state of Bihar resulting in a severe famine. The members of the EFI responded to the need by raising money through an appeal in their official magazine - AIM. Since then, the past forty-two years has been a story of transformation for EFICOR.
The story of change is seen at three levels - in the community, in the Church and in EFICOR as an organization moving from relief to development .
